Podcast week 15

Geek!ED!

Netcasting with Students

Episode 50

11/15/2006

Geek!ED! is an interesting show that seems to take a fun spin on podcasting. It is relaxed and easy going which makes it one of the more interesting podcasts. This was the first time I heard the word podcasting referred to as netcasting. It raises a very good point that people refer to podcasting as something you have to do with an iPod, but in all actuality it can be done on desktops or countless other media playing devices. This makes you realize that podcasting has now been branded by a corporate title rather then what it really is, a free enterprise everyone can partake in that doesn’t need an iPod.

Netcasting in the museum

Episode 10

1/11/2006

This cast was about using podcasts for museum tours. It such a neat idea that makes great sense. A person can just download their tour before they come to the museum and enjoy a richer museum visit. It also makes for a great project for students to make their own podcast for museum in their area and to see what the different students perspectives on museums would be.

Pod-Pals

Episode 8

11/30/2005

Pod-pals are such a neat idea! This would allow students from all over the country to send information between students. This could work all over the world as well. Students could record messages and send them to their pod-pals all over the place. Such a neat way to make the world a smaller place.
